Passions: In addition to the art of photography and directing - Deep powder snow and street cars. 

Hal is an award winning Director of photography and Director. He is shooting and directing music videos, commercials and documentaries. He has also recently finished his first panoramic movie at The North Cape. A spectacular journey throughout a year in the very arctic north of Norway.

After finishing education at Mediehøyskolen - Kristiansand in 1997 he started his own production company Halfilms in 1998. 
He worked for all the Norwegian television channels and production companies until he was signed with the number one commercial channel in Norway TV2, as a director and director of photography in september 2000. 

In 2003 he started directing and shooting music videos on a permanent basis, working with some of the major artists in Norway such as Lene Marlin, Span, Margaret Berger and Morten Abel. 
In august 2005 he signed up with "Magic 8" as a director, shooting commercials. He has shot and directed commercials with Magic 8 and Halfilms, with clients such as Telenor, Bergans, Y'ouplait and SAS. 
In 2006 Hal shot the international documentary "The road of love" with the world famous author Paulo Cohelo. 
From 2007 till the end of 2008 Hal was busy working with his panoramic film "The North Cape - Home of the midnight sun and the northern light". The film premiered spring 2009 and will be shown for the next 15 years at the panoramic theatre at The North Cape. 
In 2009 Hal won the Norwegian Emmy awards "Gullruten" for best cinematography on the documentary "Women in white".

Hal is shooting an international documentary series in the Arctic.
Hal has signed up to shoot a 5 episodes documentary series named "The icecold race", and covers the topic oil development in the Arctic. The series is a 80 days shoot and will be shot throughout 2009.
