Hallgrim Haug is a Norwegian award winning director and director of photography.
Hallgrim was only 14 when he was given his first camera and discovered his passion for the art of photography. Born and raised at the feet of raw, imposing Norwegian mountains he quickly developed an understanding for the power of light and how to capture it to convey emotions and sensations in his motifs.
His repertoire spans from directing major commercials and music videos in Scandinavia to shooting documentaries in third world countries. Among the latter are documentaries like “The Road of Love” with world famous author Paulo Cohelo and “Women in White” for which he won a Norwegian Emmy in 2009 for best cinematography.
Recently he directed a short film designed for an astounding panoramic format, "the North Cape – Home of the Midnight Sun and the Northern Light", a spectacular audiovisual journey of the arctic life and nature through all seasons at the northernmost point of continental Europe, the North Cape. The film screens permanently in a customized panoramic theatre in Norway for an audience of 300,000 people a year, and is set to run for the next 15 years.
In 2010, after 14 successful years in the Norwegian film and television industry, Haug relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career as a second unit director.
